QUBE RECORDS FUNDRAISER LIVE AT THE ACORN THEATRE

DSC01491_edited.jpg

Qube Records main man Darren Roberts came out of retirement for a one night only performance at Penzance's Acorn Theatre to raise some much needed funds for the 2020 European Tour. It was Darren's first full show for 10 years to the day and featured songs from across his career some of which haven't been performed at all for a decade.

The evening began with an amazing combined set from 2 of our alumni in the form of Jacob Powley, formerly of Qube favourites The Cold Six Hundred, and current golden girl Senara Rendell. They treated the audience to cuts from their respective new solo releases as well as a couple of gorgeous duets.

This being a Qube Records fundraiser, Darren and the band peppered their set with "covers" of some choice standout songs from the Qube back catalogue! They were joined by Ellie Sawbridge for  the heaviest ever work through "Lovers in the Back Seat" from Ellie's album Rutaceae, Anya Burlton smashed a typically joyous and bouncy "You Were Never There" from Different Light, and Senara returned to the stage for a driving full band performance of her brilliant new song "Miles Past Falling" from her forthcoming In Her Eyes album.

The evening raised £300 for the 2020 tour so thank you to everyone who came out and supported the show.  See loads more photos from the show below courtesy of the unmatched Pete Knight and Richie Cawley at the Acorn.
